During World War II, Juno beach was the site of the Canadian military’s landing on D-Day, June 6, 1944, as part of Operation Overlord. This was also known as the Normandy Landings. Juno beach was one of five landing sites of the Allies on the Normandy coast during D-Day.
The Canadian soldiers of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division and the 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade, under British command, landed there.
Nowadays, the Juno Beach Centre is a Canadian Museum dedicated to commemorating the Canadian military’s role in WWII. Visitors can learn about the sacrifices made by the Canadian soldiers during the invasion and the role played by Canada in WWII.
Juno Beach is also home to Juno Beach Pier, a popular spot for fishing and sightseeing.
The pier is approximately 1,320 feet long and extends into the ocean, allowing anglers to fish for a variety of saltwater species, including snook, tarpon, and red drum.
The Pier is owned and operated by the Town of Juno Beach. It offers amenities such as fish cleaning stations, restrooms, and a bait shop. There is also a small fee to access the pier, and an annual pass is also available for purchase.
In addition to fishing, the pier is also a popular spot for wildlife viewing, as it is located in an area known for its abundance of marine life, including dolphins, sea turtles, and a variety of bird species.

7. Singer Island
