It’s a casual atmosphere with an exclusive view of amazing sunsets right on the water. You can rent boats from here and you can kayak to and from this location. It is also pet-friendly. 

Stock Rock Cafe is known for having a great friendly staff, a huge selection of beer, and of course, delicious tacos. A special recommendation is the Catch of the Day Fish Tacos for $19.95. There are also nice discounts during happy hour from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm – a local favorite.

2. Amigos

This spot offers great views just off the infamous Duval Street. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating and it is right across the street from Captain Tony’s. You can have a nice time watching the tourists if you sit outdoors or right by the windows. 

Every plate of tacos at Amigos comes with rice and beans and is served with cheese and cilantro. Aside from the tacos in flour tortillas, the corn on the cob is also a great choice for just $4.50. It’s fresh and affordable homemade food.

3. Bad Boy Burrito

This is a casual, relaxing stop to enjoy fresh local food. Chickens, roosters, and chicks walk freely around you at Bad Boy Burrito. If you are in the mood for fish tacos, at this restaurant they will tell you their fresh fish options are and you can make your own choices from there. If you are looking for something a little fancier, then this is the spot for you. Nine One Five has a lovely outside patio and sophisticated indoors, and because of that, it can be a little pricey. If the chipotle pork tacos are on the menu when you visit, it is a must with its delicious slow-braised pork.

5. Garbo’s Grill

This food truck (yes, food trucks make the list too!) is filled with a chill atmosphere with palms shading the brick patio around Hank’s Hair of the Dog. The bar serves drinks and Garbo’s Grill serves the tacos out of the airstream on the back patio. For happy hour, they have taco trios which include a fish taco, a shrimp taco, and their famous taco trio of the Korean BBQ for $11.

6. Lagerheads Beach Bar

Lagerheads Beach Bar is a great little place to just chill out and catch some sun and good vibes. You can sit on the beach or rent a beach chair for $10. 

Their Caribbean sauce brings some extra flavor to their tacos, but if you don’t have much tolerance for spicy food, it is better to warn them. Both their shrimp and chicken tacos are a good choice, however, the main attraction is the fish tacos for $13.

You can order a fish of the day taco by visiting UberEats, but you don’t want to miss the fun of having a beach around you.

7. Old Town Mexican Cafe

Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday with $3 tacos, half-priced appetizers, and drinks. There are also chips and salsa offered free of charge.

Sinz Burritos is a perfect spot for a quick lunch. You order at a counter and then sit and eat your food or ask for takeout. 

This restaurant has an authentic Mexican vibe just like the ingredients in their food.  There are lots of interesting toppings to add to tacos and burritos including red cabbage, pickled radish, sour cream, and pineapple salsa. 

This place is themed after the seven deadly sins and each menu board defines each sin. It’s great for those who want to take a break from local fish tacos and try their delicious carne asada taco.

9. DJ’s Clam Shack

Enjoy a fabulous shrimp taco at this cozy place in Duval Street! Here, they keep it simple and tasty. The tacos are a good size (some look like a hot dog!) and come with a lot of french fries! 

The staff is known for being very friendly and attentive. At DJ’s Clam Shack you can also count on the company of roosters and chickens. (It’s a Key West thing!)

Kim’s Kuban is a simple, affordable, great place to go with kids. It is family-owned and operated, which gives the perfect homemade ambiance.

11. Fisherman’s Cafe

Fisherman’s Cafe is a nice little breakfast and lunch spot, mainly for takeout, but they do have a few stools outside to sit and eat. It’s ideal to pick up some bites to take on the boat since it’s right in front of the marina. 

The generous portions offer a good cost-benefit ratio… and the Mahi Mahi and coconut lobster taco are highly recommended.

Besides takeout, the Fisherman’s Cafe also offers delivery. You can order it online from their website linked above or at Grubhub.

12. Frita’s

Steps From Duval Street, this peculiar spot in a side alley surprises people for its authentic flair and one-of-a-kind atmosphere. There is a Hispanic beer selection and the pork tacos with guava glaze in handmade corn tortillas is a good option if you are looking for something extra special! It costs $9.95 and you can order some yucca fries with garlic cilantro oil as a perfect side dish for just $4.50 more.
