Saturdays are family days in the Nicholson household. With work and school, it’s the only day we are all together, so we usually plan to go out and do something.
My husband has always wanted to visit the racetrack at Gulfstream Park, so we did… and we did it on the same day as the Home and Design Fair. It’s a perfect place for the entire family because there is something there for everyone.
If you love home decor…
I don’t only love decorating, redecorating, arranging, then rearranging my house. I also love organization. A lot. If you’re a fan of any of these things, Gulfstream Park has you covered with six amazing stores for home enthusiasts.
West Elm
West Elm at Gulfstream Park has a lot, including a great selection of botanicals, planters, and terrariums. While you’re shopping, don’t forget a watering can!
Pottery Barn
I love the accessories for decorating outside at Gulfstream Park’s Pottery Barn. Whether you’re lounging or dining, this store will have you covered.
The Container Store
Can you tell I have a slight obsession with organization? The Container Store at Gulfstream Park may be one of my favorite places. In this store, you can find anything to organize… well, anything. I just tackled my kid’s drawers and my kitchen pantry. The next thing on my list is my closet.
Crate & Barrel
Gulfstream Park’s Crate & Barrel has something for every room in the house… and your bar. Drinks anyone? Actually, at the Home and Design Fair, I learned how to make a mean cocktail thanks to Krista Watterworth and a bartender from Brio Tuscan Grille.
Z Gallerie
Can I pick a favorite? Okay, it’s Z Gallerie at Gulfstream Park. This entire store looks like the most beautiful Instagram feed you’ll ever see. The artwork, furniture, and table settings… oh, the table settings.
Williams Sonoma
I’m not a great cook, but I love to bake. (So does my daughter, AKA Bunny from Baking with Bunny.) Williams Sonoma at Gulfstream Park has everything I could ever need to bake. I already have a mixer and a few cookie cutters, but I think it’s time to upgrade, don’t you?
If you love to eat…
There are so many restaurants at Gulfstream Park – more than 20! For lunch, we ate at Frankey’s Sports Bar and also enjoyed some healthy, natural options from the Adena Farms Food Truck.
For dessert, I suggest Le Macaron. These French pastries come in so many different flavors and are so good.
If you love arts and crafts…
My daughter is a little artist, so naturally, she loves looking at artwork. At Gulfstream Park, Sirona Fine Art, Barker Animation Art Gallery and Sher Gallery are three great places to see a variety of pieces.
If you’re a kid…
Well, what kid doesn’t love looking at horses?! There is also so much we didn’t get to do that we need to go back for, like Strike 10 Bowling and Color Me Mine. (You know, for my little artist.)
If you’re an adult…
Instead of looking at the horses, adults can bet on them. That’s fun!
We spent just about the entire day at Gulfstream Park and still didn’t have time to do everything. There is so much! We’ve already started our list of things to do and places to eat for our next trip to Hallandale Beach.
