The credit for this recipe goes to my mom. It may be the best rice you will ever make and eat. It is also cooked in the oven = easy! All you need is:

  • one stick of better
  • one cup of rice
  • one can of beef broth (10 oz.)
  • one can of french onion soup (10 oz.)
  • optional additions – soy sauce, mushrooms, etc.

Before you start getting things ready, set the oven to 425 degrees. Then, in a baking dish mix in the cup of rice with the beef broth and french onion soup. Cut up the butter and just set it on top of the mixture in the pan.

Cook it, covered with foil, for 30 minutes. Take the foil off and cook it for another 30 minutes. When it’s done, all you have to do is stir it up and serve!

oh my goodness! This looks amazing and I had no clue you could cook rice this way!

  2. Sarah D. says:

    Hey lady,

Quick question on this recipe. Is the measurement correct on the French Onion soup? Only use one cup, and not the entire can?

    Thanks!!!
