Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.
As soon as Taylor Swift sang those lyrics at her second show in Buenos Aires, Argentina during her Eras Tour, we all hoped the guy on the Chiefs would beat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game and head back to the Super Bowl so we could have a Taylor Swift theme party… and we did!
We watched the big game and also paid tribute to the pop star. Now, we’re doing it for all the Kansas City Chiefs football games.
Here are some ideas and resources for your football party… or any party!
Some things I link to may be affiliate links.
1. Taylor Swift Decorations
Decorate your party space with Taylor Swift-themed decorations, like
- Posters
- Banners of her albums
- Cutouts featuring Taylor Swift’s album covers, song lyrics, or images of her
- Cupcake toppers
For plates and napkins, I’m using these Kansas City Chiefs ones.
2. Music Playlist
Create a playlist of Taylor Swift’s greatest hits to play in the background throughout the party.
If you have an Amazon Echo Dot, just ask her to play upbeat songs by Taylor Swift.
3. Dress Code
Encourage your guests to dress up as their favorite Taylor Swift era or character from her music videos.
You can also have a costume contest with prizes for the best-dressed Swifties.
In our house on Super Bowl Sunday, it’s going to be Chiefs gear… but you can make it fun by ordering a custom-made shirt that brings Taylor and Travis together, like this.
4. Taylor Swift Games
There are so many games you can play with Swift-themed prizes for the winners.
Host a Taylor Swift trivia game with questions about her music, albums, and personal life.
Click here to download six different BINGO cards for a Kansas City Chiefs football game.
Everything on the card is the same, but the things are in different places.
I made sure to include Mama Kelce, Jason Kelce, Brittany Mahomes, beer commercials… everything Swifite-related!
5. Themed Food and Drinks
Create a menu with food and drinks inspired by Taylor Swift’s songs or favorite snacks.
For example, you can have “Love Story” cupcakes, “Red” or “Bad Blood” punch, and “Shake It Off” milkshakes.
Here are more examples of what we did for the Superbowl.
- “Red” Hot Wings – inspired by Taylor Swift’s album “Red.”
- “Shake It Off” Shake – named after Swift’s hit song “Shake It Off.”
- “Fearless” Fiesta Dip – representing Taylor Swift’s album “Fearless.”
- “1989” Nachos – inspired by Swift’s album “1989.”
- “Blank Space” Bites – creating a blank space in your snack lineup.
- “Speak Now” Sausage Sliders – named after Swift’s album “Speak Now.”
- “Love Story” Meatballs – reminiscent of Taylor Swift’s song “Love Story.”
- “Lover” Lava Cakes – perfect for dessert and named after Swift’s album “Lover.”
- “Folklore” Fondue – inspired by Swift’s album “Folklore.”
- “Reputation” Ribs – representing Swift’s album “Reputation.”
My mom bought these number molds to make chocolates with Taylor Swift’s lucky number 13, Travis Kelce’s 87, and Patrick Mahomes’ 15.
Feel free to get creative and come up with your own Taylor Swift-themed snacks based on her songs, albums, or lyrics!
6. Super Bowl Activities
If you’re celebrating the big game, set up a designated area with a TV where guests can watch the game in, if it’s 2024, Sin City and enjoy the halftime show from Las Vegas with Usher.
You can incorporate Taylor Swift-themed halftime entertainment or games during the breaks.
7. Photo Booth
Set up a Taylor Swift-themed photo booth with props and backdrops related to her music videos or album covers.
This will allow your guests to take memorable photos during the party.
Here is a link to a lot of fun Taylor Swift photo booth props.
8. Karaoke
Organize a Taylor’s Version karaoke session where guests can sing along to their favorite Taylor Swift songs.
Provide lyrics sheets and a staging area for some added fun.
My kids have a blast with this karaoke machine.
9. Swiftie Merchandise
Consider offering Taylor Swift merchandise like T-shirts, posters, or other memorabilia as party favors or prizes for party games.
You can also stick with the Super Bowl theme and show tight end Travis Kelce some love with this t-shirt.
10. Party Favors
Prepare Taylor Swift-themed party favors for your guests to take home, such as keychains, magnets, or custom-made Swiftie-themed items.
My vote is these friendship bracelets.
11. Invitations
Create Taylor Swift-themed invitations for your guests in their football era.
Send them out well in advance to set the mood for the party.
These are the ones I sent out for the Super Bowl in 2024.
Remember to prioritize the football game or Super Bowl aspect of your party, as it’s the main event.
Combining Taylor Swift elements with the football excitement can make for a memorable and enjoyable tailgating party for both Swifties and sports fans.
