His & Hers by Alice Feeney was a two day read for me. This book defines psychological thriller. Just when you think you have it figured out, you don’t!
About His & Hers
His & Hers was something that I either saw shared on #Bookstagram or by someone I follow on GoodReads. I can’t remember, but when I saw it was a psychological thriller, I wanted to pick it up. When I did, I couldn’t put it down!
This is going to become a major TV series with Jessica Chastain and I cannot wait to watch.
Alice Feeney is a writer and journalist. She spent fifteen years at the BBC, where she worked as a reporter, news editor, arts and entertainment producer, and One O’clock News Producer. Personally, I LOVE her background since I also used to work as a TV reporter and anchor.
Now, I want to read more by Alice Feeney!

His & Hers Book Summary
When the body of a young woman is found in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, main TV presenter of the BBC Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Why? Because the murder happened in the same sleepy countryside village she grew up in.
Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.
Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep. This is a dark puzzle with the main characters going back to high school to uncover what happened years ago.

My Book Review for His & Hers
His & Hers is a book I had a feeling I would like based on the GoodReads reviews and the fact that I love the mysteries and thrillers James Patterson publishes.
This book is a page-turner because every other chapter is from one of the two main character’s perspectives – switching back and forth between newsreader Anna Andrews and DCI Jack Harper.
When you finish a chapter, you tell yourself, “Okay, just one more, and then I’ll put it down.” I did that all day and finished the book in two days.
The big twist, or I should say twists because there are many of them, show how clever and creative Alice Feeney is. Between friendship bracelets and dark secrets in this gripping tale of suspense in a small town and the unreliable narrators, this addictive novel delivers quite a breathtaking finale.
Obviously, I’m not opposed to murder in a book, but this one has quite a few murder scenes and the author does not hold back with her graphic descriptions. I could’ve done without some of those visual details.
There is also one murder victim who I really wish would have lived. (After you read it, you’ll know which one I’m talking about.)
Still, it was freaking amazing.
Trigger warning: There is a disturbing scene of sexual assault and animal cruelty in this book.
My His & Hers Book Recommendation
If you like mysteries like Gone Girl, crime fiction, plot twists, and a twisty psychological thriller – you will love this.
It’s one of those books that has you swearing you know who the killer is, then you don’t, then you do again, then you don’t, then… you get the point.
My His & Hers Rating
I give His & Hers 5 out of 5 stars. It was very, very good and I’m excited to watch the upcoming TV series.
