It is a great job and pays well, so no wonder many people find the whole flight attendant job intriguing… and good news: This job does not need impossible qualifications to attain.
How to be a Flight Attendant
Here are some basics to become one of the amazing flight attendants we all know and love.
- Most airline’s minimum hiring requirements say you must be 4’11″-6’4” tall
- You have to be at least 19 years old
- You cannot have as visible tattoos on your body
- You must have a clean criminal background for at least 10 years
When you meet all of those requirements, you can now undergo training specifically for flight attendants. If you pass the training, then your chances of getting hired will increase. But before that, you need to have these qualities to succeed in the training:
- Professionalism
- Safety consciousness
- Adaptability and flexibility to lifestyle change
- Customer service skills
- Assertiveness
- Energy
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to connect with people
Pretty board and full of common sense, but we’ve all worked with that person, right?
During the training, the flight attendant trainees will learn about airport codes, aircraft configuration, airline terminology, first aid, emergency procedures, and much more.
Overall, as amazing as the job is, becoming a flight attendant is not easy. It requires focus, hard work, and determination. The good news is, it is possible!
