I got lash extensions for a while and I didn’t love them because I’m an aggressive face washer and you have to be gentle around the extensions… and they made my real lashes fallout.
What is a Lash Lift?
A lash lift used to be called a lash perm, but now it’s been modernized to be called a lash lift.
It’s lifting your lashes chemically.
How Long Does a Lash Lift Last?
A lash lift lasts about six to eight weeks.
Depending on the person and how fast their lashes grow, you could need a new lash lift after just four weeks.
Lash Lift and Tint
When Britt did my lash lift, she also gave me a lash tint to make them darker and added a 24 karat gold lash plumper, which helps build up the lash density by 24%.
How to Prevent a Lash Lift Gone Wrong
Before you get a lash lift, make sure your lash tech has to be either a licensed aesthetician or a licensed cosmetologist.
Otherwise, Britt says they shouldn’t be touching your lashes, skin, or hai.
Another thing to look for is a certification – either a lash artist or lash tech certification.
This certification isn’t mandated by the state, but it means that the tech took a class and passed a test.
It shows they took extra education and they’re invested in what they do.
You can always ask the tech, “How long have you been doing this?” or, “How many clients have you seen?”
Another thing Britt emphasized is to not base someone’s skill on their Instagram photos alone.
They can be exaggerated or pulled from another tech’s job.
The best way to find someone qualified is to ask around.
If you have a friend or you see somebody out who has gorgeous lashes, ask them.
How Much is a Lash Lift?
Depending on where you go, lash lift prices usually start at just over $100 and go up to $300.
