Because I was having a hard time finding summer camps in Wellington to choose from for my 9-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son, I decided to scour the internet and put all of the options that would appeal to her in one place to hopefully help other moms in Wellington. Every year I update this list.
Three years ago, she went back and forth between the Art Cellar and the Village of Wellington. Two years ago, she was at a new camp every week and picked her favorites (that will come in handy picking this summer). Last summer was a bust because of COVID-19. Uh.
A variety of local camps are included below. Please comment if you know of more that I can add to my list.
1. Village of Wellington Summer Camp
In addition to its summer camps and academies (which are listed below), Wellington’s Parks and Recreation Department offers an all-day summer camp from June to the middle of August each year for ages 5-15.
The camp is held at Village Park, where campers get to experience a fun-filled daily schedule of activities including sporting events, athletics, arts and crafts, entertainment and games, animal exhibits, rock wall climbing, magicians, movies, trips to the Wellington Aquatics Complex, field trips and much, much more.
If the full day camp isn’t your thing, check out some other options like:
- baseball
- soccer
- horseback riding
- volleyball
- speed and agility
- tennis
- tumble and cheer
