Not everyone has the time to stay in the kitchen for hours to make the perfect meal. Whether you are a parent, student, or juggling multiple jobs, eating healthy can be difficult.
Fortunately, slow cookers make cooking less time-consuming… and easier. (Trust me, it’s hard to mess up a slow cooker recipe.) You can set it and forget it, at least for a few hours.
Here, you’ll find eight Hurst Beans slow cooker recipes you can whip up in your Crock Pot or Instant Pot. Almost all of these great recipes are for soup or include ham. I also share some Hurst Beans dip recipes as well as one Hurst Beans salad recipe too!
If you’re in the market for a new slow cooker, I suggest this 7-quart CrockPot for less than $40 on Amazon. You can also use an InstantPot. This is the one we use at home.
8 Hurst Beans Soup, Salad, and Dip Slow Cooker Recipes
1. Hurst Cajun 15 Beans Soup
When it comes to Hurst Beans slow cooker recipes, the 15 bean soup recipe is one of the most recommended soup recipes.
This easy recipe calls for andouille smoked sausages. However, if you don’t have that specific sausage, any other good-quality smoked sausage will work.

- Enjoy the Cajun 15 Beans Soup with bread or rice.
2. Vegan Hurst Cajun 15 Beans Soup
Not everyone eats meat, right? This soup recipe is nearly the same as the last one and equally delicious, but it’s a better fit for vegans and vegetarians.

Directions:
- First, add the rinsed beans, onion, celery, carrots, celery, bay leaf, oregano, and water to the slow cooker.

Prep Time: 10-15 minutes
Cook Time: 2 hours
Servings: 25
Ingredients:
- 1 package of 15.5 ounce Hurst Garlic and Herb Lentils
- 3 peeled garlic cloves
- 1 tsp. of kosher salt
- 7 cups of water
- 1/2 cup of olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- Splash of fresh lemon juice
Directions:
- Add the garlic and herb lentils, water, salt, cloves, and garlic in a slow cooker. Let the ingredients cook for just two hours on a high heat setting.
- After the cooking time is over, uncover the lid and separate the lentils from the water. Save the water because you will use it later.
- Now, add the lentils and beans to a blender mixing in the oil, lemon juice, seasoning from the Hurst package, and a pinch of salt and pepper to make the hummus. If the hummus looks too thick, add some of the water you saved from the slow cooker.

- 2 tsp. of taco seasoning

- Last, add the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and taco seasoning with the lentils and mash everything together with a utensil like a potato masher.
