With summer winding down and the start of school underway, it’s time to start thinking about the transition into fall. The leaves might not be changing colors yet, but it’s not too soon for you to change up the colors in your home. A few new fall touches could make all the difference.
What color should I pick?
Pantone Color Institute sets the tone for incoming trends in design. Every year they release a color of the year. This year the color chosen is Greenery, representing new beginnings. Aside from the single color, the Spring 2017 Fashion Color Report lists 10 shades that represent a mixture of vitality, relaxation, and the great outdoors. These colors have been disbursed throughout the art world, seen anywhere from New York Fashion Week to home decor.
How can I use these colors in my home?
There are many ways to incorporate these colors into your room of choice. The most ambitious way would be painting an accent wall in your home. This would not only be a bold statement, but it would brighten up your living space on those colder fall days. Another more attainable option might be to include pillows, chairs, headboards or other decor pieces in your preferred color.
Will Spring colors still work in the Fall?
Of course, they will! Essentially color is a preference. We can be influenced by the experts but when it comes down to it, you are the one living with your color decisions. Why would you choose a color you don’t like? Additionally, many of the Spring colors can easily be transferred into the new season. Take, for example, Hazelnut, a soft brown that will allude to warm campfires and creamy hot chocolate as the long fall days approach.
