What you need:

  • 4 (4 ounces) tilapia fillets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

What to do:

STEP 1:

Start by rinsing the tilapia fillets in cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

STEP 2:

Season both sides of each fillet with salt and pepper.

STEP 3:

Add flour in a shallow dish and gently press each fillet into the flour to coat and shake off the excess flour.

STEP 4:

In a skillet, heat olive oil on medium-high heat. When the oil starts to get hot, cook the tilapia in the hot oil until the fish flakes easily with a fork (this usually takes about four minutes per side).

STEP 5:

When the tilapia is almost done, brush it with the melted butter one minute before removing it from the skillet.

STEP 6:

Transfer the tilapia fillets to a plate and serve immediately. You can pair it with rice or vegetables.
